Black Keys Drummer’s Feud With Bieber Escalates

Tuesday, May 13th, 2014

The feud between Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney and pop star Justin Bieber has escalated after further comments have been made by Patrick in a recent interview.

Patrick Carney fumed to Rolling Stone that the 20-year-old Canadian pop star is “a f***ing moron” for turning millions of his fans — known as Beliebers — against him last year.

The feud began in February 2013 when Carney was asked by TMZ if Bieber should feel snubbed for not getting a Grammy nomination and he replied: “Grammys are for music, not for the money, and he’s making a lot of money. He should be happy.”

Bieber reacted via Twitter: “The Black Keys drummer should be slapped around haha.”

What followed was a barrage of social media hate for Carney from millions of Beliebers.

“All these kids who don’t know what they’re saying are saying all of these things that are actually wildly inappropriate,” recalled Carney. “And these kids are just dumba**es.

“He shouldn’t be … telling his followers to slap me, and then also be doing anti-bullying bulls***. It’s so irresponsible.”

Carney told Rolling Stone he feels bad for Bieber. “I don’t dislike his music. I don’t listen to his music, but he needs to not conduct himself that way. Like, really, you make millions of dollars playing music, you should feel … lucky.”

Carney’s comments about Bieber echo those of Canadian actor Seth Rogen, who has publicly called Bieber “a d**k” and “a piece of s**t.“

Rocker Jon Bovi and comedian Sandra Bernhard have also taken shots at Bieber.

Bernhard dismissed the superstar as “a right-wing Christian who’s a punk: and said she’d like to “transport him into outer space.”

In March, many in the crowd at the Juno Awards in Winnipeg booed when Bieber’s name was read as winner of the Fan Choice award.

On Sunday, Bieber was reportedly booed when he appeared on the scoreboard video screens at the L.A. Clippers game.
