Richard Jupp joins Sakae

Sakae Drums are proud to announce their latest endorsee in the UK

Richard Jupp has been the drummer with Elbow for over 20 years. He is a co-writer of all 5 of their albums, 3 times Mercury and Brit nominated, their most famous work, ’The Seldom Seen Kid’ (2008), won them 12 international awards including a Brit, a Mercury Prize and 2 Ivor Novello awards.

In 2012 elbow wrote the official BBC Olympic theme, ‘First Steps’ and performed at the Olympic Closing Ceremony. They have sold over 2 million records worldwide and are currently recording their 6th studio album.

Richard’s individual style comes from being entirely self-taught which gives him the flexibility and freedom to experiment with kit sounds. Richard says, ‘Moving to Sakae was a logical choice!’
