Samuel Awotayo is a Drums tutor based in Canning Town
Samuel is a hardworking, motivated individual with excellent communication skills, his experience has enabled him to understand the importance of working with students. He has worked at an array of schools in different areas utilising various styles of teaching, adapting to what is required with individual students.
Samuel has a passion for music and enjoys organising local events for my community,he is a full time musician and he also teaches kids Djembe drums and Drum kit at secondary schools. He works as a teaching assistant and I help kids from year 7 to year 11 who need extra help with their music.
Samuel gigs regularly and has played in many big venues which include Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, Roundhouse in Camden, Cargo, mau mau bar and many other venues. He also played for some really big artist including Deny’s Baptise quartet, Gary Crosby quartet, Samedi and many others. He also running my own Jazz band called the Phoenix which requires him to compose and write new material for for the band to learn. The skills that picked up from playing in these bands has helped him bring the very best work out of my students.
