Project Editor (Music) London
ABRSM is the UK’s largest music education body, one of its largest music publishers, and the world’s leading provider of music exams, offering assessments to more than 630,000 candidates in 93 countries every year. We support the teaching and learning of music, in partnership with the Royal Schools of Music.
Our mission is to inspire achievement in music. ABRSM Publishing is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ABRSM.
ABRSM is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Publishing team as a Project Editor.
Working within a team of four Project Editors and reporting to the Managing Editor (and referring where appropriate to the Editorial Director), the Project Editor will be responsible for project management and preparation of ABRSM’s published products and exam-support materials.
This includes developing content for a wide range of products in print, audio and online media, and liaising with, and coordinating, consultants and freelancers where appropriate.
You will have considerable experience of publishing project management, particularly in developing and editing music and text content for educational music products.
Digitally savvy and financially aware, you will have a good understanding of publishing software and systems, and of end-to-end publishing processes.
You will enjoy finding creative solutions to problems, and working in collaboration with colleagues and external experts to produce customer-focused products.
Experienced in commissioning and product development, you will have knowledge of a broad spectrum of music genres, an understanding of the music education environment, and passion for the benefits of music learning and progression.
In return for your commitment, we can offer you an opportunity to widen your experience in educational music publishing within the world’s leading music exam board.
ABRSM offers its employees a range of benefits, including an interest-free season ticket loan and a contributory pension scheme.
