Hearing begins into Radiohead drum tech’s death
The hearing into the death of drum technician Scott Johnson, who was killed when the stage collapsed before a Radiohead concert three years ago, has begun in Canada. Three other crew members were injured in the incident, which took place in Toronto’s Downsview Park on June 16, 2012, reports Exclaim.
Live Nation Canada, Live Nation Ontario and Optex Staging and Services each face four charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, while an engineer, Domenic Cugliari, faces one charge of endangering a worker by negligence. All have pleaded not guilty.
Johnson, 33, was from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and had also worked with other acts such as Keane. The concert, due to have been the final show of Radiohead’s 2012 North American tour, was cancelled following the tragedy.
