Drummer Jeremy Taggart Quits Our Lady Peace
Drummer Jeremy Taggart has decided to leave veteran rockers Our Lady Peace after 21 years with the band.
Taggart’s been with the band since 1993 and has appeared on every single Our Lady Peace album.
“It’s been an absolute wonder to grow up in this band,” said Taggart in a statement addressing his departure from the group. “I’d like to thank all the incredible people who accepted us into their hearts, and supported our (my) dream of making records and playing concerts.”
The remaining members of Our Lady Peace released a joint statement on Facebook where the band wished their ex-drummer well.
“It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Jeremy as the drummer in OLP,” read the statement. “Jeremy was important to us all and we wish him nothing but the best as he explores life outside OLP and pursues new goals.”
The group also indicated that they have new material that they’re ready to trot out at their upcoming Taggartless concert dates.
“We will always treasure our past but we are truly excited about the future,” proclaimed Our Lady Peace. “We’ve just finished recording new music with producer Mike Elizondo and will be showcasing some of the new material on the upcoming summer shows.”
