Doctors get the blues
New york quartet, The Spin Doctors will release, If The River Was Whiskey today. Best known for hits such as ‘Two Princes’ and ‘Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong’, not to mention the classic 1991 album Pocket Full Of Kryptonite, Chris Barron (vocals), Aaron Comess (drums), Eric Schenkman (guitar) and Mark White (bass) are going back to their roots and reconnecting with the flat-broke twenty-somethings who started out scraping for dollars at the sharp end of the Big Apple blues circuit.
Aaron says of the late ‘80s, “Our goal was to write our own songs and make a living. The blues is such a big part of our roots. We’d play these downtown blues bars in New York where you were supposed to play blues covers, but we were actually playing our own songs.”
