Wizdom Media, the brainchild of world-renowned educator Dom Famularo and highly respected Broadway drummer Joe Bergamini, has announced the release of their latest instructional drumming book, Odd Feelings: A Guide To Odd-Meter Drumset Grooves. Written by Italian drummer and educator Massimo Russo along with drumming’s global ambassador, Dom Famularo, Odd Feelings focuses on getting drummers comfortable with playing in odd time signatures. Based on a concept introduced in Famularo’s bestselling book It’s Your Move, Odd Feelings presents grooves and exercises in 18 different time signatures. The book is divided into chapters on quarter, eighth, and 16th note based meters, with an additional section about mixed-meter grooves. Odd Feelings also provides eight play-along tracks on the included disc, which contains MP3s and videos demonstrating selected examples and the play- along tracks minus drums.
“This book/disc package fills a niche in the drum book market that has, until now, had very little to offer: dealing with odd time signatures,” said Wizdom Media co-president Joe Bergamini. “Massimo and Dom have done a wonderful job of putting together a fun and approachable, yet very educational, method to approaching odd meters. I think drummers and educators will get a quite a bit out of this package.”
